Well I was expecting this exact kind of response at this forum , so may I ask - can I have an opportunity to speak my mind ?

If not, please don't worry - there are people at this very forum who have open minds, who are NOT interested in forum politics, and are quite anxious to find solutions for well known Lada problems  - without listening to this personal "fluff" on people's minds.

I guess the answer will be NO, you simply know too much - you are causing too much problems, and we rather prefer to believe in fairy tales.

So again, will I have a fair chance to explain myself without facing all this personal fluff of all these years again ?

Ai tog, there goes old Marius again ! ;D

Okay, my intention was to explain in more detail, but I just realized that whatever I have to say, will never make a difference. So hopefully this will be quite short.

Before I bought my Lada 11 years ago, I did a lot of reading at the original Locsa forum, and within a very short period I was fully aware of quite a number of technical problems which previous owners were complaining about. I soon realized that such a number owners would simply not complain about "nothing" - it simply did not make sense . Despite this alarming indications, I still decided to buy my Lada - simply because I knew I have the technical skills, willpower, as well as experience to sort any possible problem myself. I know some people at this forum will now start jumping up and down because I dared to make such a statement . By now I know for a fact that whatever have to say about previous, as well as current personal technical experience  are NOT going to count at this forum - so I am NOT going to waste my time and energy in this regard. I also need to mention -  during my 11 years of Lada ownership I had opportunity to talk to a few local specialists who have prevous Lada experience. What they told me, was not too worrying . To this day I still believe that the "problems" they told me about, can indeed be overcome.

Just in short, just the reasons why the modifications is not fully completed. I do apologize for revealing this info here, but I do believe it is very relevant.

I have several interests and passions in life.  My passion about Ladas is nothing more than just ONE of the passions in my life. I am also a motorcycle fanatic, and committed to family obligations. Since I bought my Lada 11 years ago, I travelled about 200 000 km on different motorcycles. Almost four years ago, I bought a brand new motorcycle. Unfortunately I do know for a fact that Ladas do have several limits, and between the different passions in my life I do need to space myself financially. - just like all of us at this very forum. Believe me if you will, I am NOT bragging, or trying to impress anyone. I am just saying.
By the way - Andre, as well as Dave Borlage have access to my photos and albums at my Facebook page - they are perfectly capable of confirming my passions which are mentioned here.

Family obligations.
Due to some misfortune in life, I had an obligation to support my dear mother financially until she passed two years ago. Believe me, there is no way in life that I would ever let my late mother down - by spending money on a Lada !

After I bought my Lada, and while I was living my dream by modifying the Lada, my youngest son was still studying.  I was facing serious financial obligations in this regard. And beleive me, there was no chance in life that a Lada would stand in the way of my son's future !

My oldest son is an American citizen, and since I bought my Lada my wife and myself spent more than R90K on several flight tickets, as well as touring expenses. Yres, that money could obviously  been used  to build the best Lada in the word, but NO - my wife and myself do have family obligations, and there is no chance in life that a Lada will get preference in this regard. After all, my wife is not passionate about Ladas at all.
Again, I am more than convinced that nobody will believe me. Just ask Andre or Dave Borlase who have access to my Facebook page, and they are perfectly capable of seeing photos and albums of our travels to America !

Again, I do apologize for revealing this info here. I was always hoping that the majority of members at this forum would  act like adults, and help looking at possible ways to improve our Ladas. But that clearly will never happen !

To conclude, Ronnie once make a public statement that "people like him (me, Danie) must not be allowed at the forum". I think you are 100% correct Ronnie, people like me should rather improve their Ladas in the quite, and never say a word about it !

Regards.
Have peace,  and enjoy your Lada !

P.S. Again,  I apologize for revealing this info here. To my mind some people at this forum never stopped rubbishing my character in public, and I feel I have to defend myself in public.

With "maybe" one or two exceptions I don't think any of us are in a position to flash money around at will. In that regard we are all in the same boat - trying to put some bread on the table. This was exactly why we bought our Lada. Easy to maintain and cheap to run if you get the basics right. I too have other obligations and hobbies to maintain - like most other people. Our Lada has now been up and running for nearly 16 years with VERY limited funding.

You have been on and off this forum on several occasions - vowing never to return - but we have always welcomed you back with open arms. I have never seen anybody "rubbishing your character" ever on this forum but you have a proven track record for throwing down your tools when things don't go your way. THIS WHOLE ARGUMENT IS STUPID but that is just my opinion.

Well said Conrad and Steve but I'm afraid it is all pretty pointless when someone has no ability to understand anything else but the fluff going on in his head  :-\

Really ?

According your comment (above) somebody at this very forum "has no ability to understand anything else but the fluff going on in his head ".

Do you REALLY think I have any reason to believe l that I have "always been welcomed with open arms  while you keep on passing comments like this ???

Come on Marius, I am NOT stupid ! Please act like an adult, PLEASE STOP THIS NONSENSE !

No point in throwing stones at barking dogs as you say.

Cheers

Hi Danie,

I think all owners can understand a lack of money and time, and quite a few have modified their Lada's (Ari is a good example). What I don't understand is what this has to do with the nominations, or more specifically your complaint about non-Lada owners being moderators, and the way this was handled by the current management?

We seem to have wound up very off topic here?

Agree. Don't see any correlation here.
