LADA stalling
« Reply #1 on: April 02, 2019, 04:23:28 pm »
Hi everyone, I have recently become the owner of a 1998 Lada Niva. All has been going well until yesterday when my lada suddenly stalled, almost like the power was switched off. When I pulled the choke the light did not come on and after a few tries the light came on and it started easily. Was driving back to the farm at 3:00 am this morning and it stalled again as I was turning off, I tried starting and noticed the choke light was off again then I switched the ignition all the way off and on again and all the lights were on and it started easily. Hoping someone has answers to my problem. Thanks :)

" as I was turning off" sound like the typical short circuit in the harness around the steering column. Undo the battery before you start searching for the short.
