What is the diff ratio at your 1600 diffs ?

I am interested in 1600 crown wheel and pinion gears with 1:4,3 ratio, NOT the ones with 1:4.1 ratio.

The pinion gears must have 10 teeth, and the crown wheels must have 43 teeth.

Have no idea. Lol we've never taken them apart. Anyway, were are selling the diffs as whole. I'll ask my dad if we can open one up and count the teeth. Will that help?

The ratio numbers are stamped on the crown wheels. You will find the numbers easily if you just remove the cover at the front diff.

If its the right diffs, howmuch can I get for them. Also, there's a guy that says their not worth more than R2000 a diff and R1000 per TC though I think he's trying to take me for a fool.... Or is he right?

Very difficult to say. The diffs actuallly need to be stripped, and each component needs to be inspected to see if they are worth R2000 each. For R2000 one can almost import a brand new Crownwheel and Pinnion, and just do a swap on yourr own diff. The TC can be worth more, because they hardly ever give problems - but  because they do not give problems, there is almost no demand fot TC's.

Front or rear diff or both?

What's the play on the steering box like and how of the nut is left to screw in?

Just the rear diff left and there's almost no play. Box is still solid, all its nuts is there,,

Its all spares that came out of my Lada, we've taken everything out and modified the car with front operated steering rack and a Opel 1300 engine. I've bought a 1600 head that I'm going to fit on the block, the car is somewhat completely different from how it used to be. My Dad just finished the adapter plate between the engine and Lada Gbx. Were using the opel's pressure plate with the lada's clutch disc, somewhat direct fit. What's left is the engine mountings and front diff mountings then the TC's mountings. The front & rear prop-shafts will have to be cut and re-sized accordingly. If interested, I'll post some pictures.
