Modification to fit cowling to Saleri waterpump

Ihar asked me to post this picture of the mod done to fit the cowling to the pump. Seems like a straight forward drill and tap.

More details should be interesting. If the housing has been threaded to install the bolt, I just wonder how thick the housing is at the spot where it has been threaded..

Maybe a nut has been installed between the waterpump and the bracket, and the cowling has just been bolted to the bracket ?

I never drilled at all, I just bolted it on.  Maybe a previous owner did all the hard work

Saleri was a straight fit with no mods required. The impeller diameter is smaller then the original but doenst seem to be a issue.

Yes, all is fitted. There is a slight gap between the rubber on the cowling and the radiator. It's not 100% flush. Also was surprised that there is only one small bolt at the top centre of the cowling to mount. There is quite a lot of play in the cowling especially with all the vibrations, amazed it hasnt sheared the bolt overtime.

Other then that it was a direct fit. The diam on the Saleri impeller is about 62mm and the original impeller is 69mm but it sits in the correct position within the housing, the depth is good. Dont suspect any issues with fitting it.

That is good news...

If I remember correctly the cowling mounting hole is slightly elongated, maybe try to loosen and move it a bit forwards.
